Born and raised in an accomplished energy and real estate family, Jeffrey Scott Klein gravitated toward those fields at a young age. His father, Robert N. Klein, was a partner with Standard Oil and Chevron Land in California. Along with Chevron Land and the WM Lyles Company, he developed over 3000 acres of industrial properties in California, and became involved in commercial real estate in 1964. Upon earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California, Mr. Klein followed in his father’s footsteps and became the Managing Director at Loara Ventures, LLC—a fourth-generation Family Office and development company based in California—in 1977.

Since taking over the family businesses, Mr. Klein has led a team in developing industrial properties and residential real estate, as well as luxury hospitality properties and golf resorts. He began traveling overseas in 1977, establishing partnerships and developed projects in Japan, Mainland China, South Korea, Mexico, Ghana, the Middle East, Costa Rica (the Four Seasons Papagayo), including a new oil field production partnership in California with China National Petroleum Corporation. He served on the board of the Beijing Construction Engineering USA for years when they developed 11 out of 14 venues for the Beijing Olympics. Additionally, in 2000 he established VisionMaker Worldwide with ex-senior Disney executives, a venture specializing in consulting on and designing overseas theme parks in the Middle East and Asia. 

Outside of these endeavors, Mr. Klein was co-founder of Golden Oak Bank, the owner of KOH Radio, Major Shareholder/Director of Sole Water, the General Partner of Black Oak Oil Company, the lead for the Korean Consortium’s California High-Speed Rail team, owner/operator of several resort projects, including Snowmass Village, three SoCal golf courses—one of which was the site of his proposed Los Angeles Charges-Raiders NFL Stadium Project. He also co-sponsored the creation of several drug rehabilitation centers, and he is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Pacific Club.

Outside of his career, he keeps physically active by surfing, playing golf, and skiing. Mr. Klein has been married to his wife, Judy Klein, since 1998 and has five children.

Mr. Klein, managing director of Loara Ventures LLC, has dedicated over 50 years to the development and investment company, a fourth-generation family business based in California. His expertise in developing industrial properties, hotels/resorts, theme parks, golf courses, residential real estate and sports projects has been instrumental in the organization’s sustained success. Mr. Klein has been active in real estate investments and development in California, Colorado, Nevada, Hawaii, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Mainland China. He has held positions as the developer and managing partner in Snowmass Village Resort, three Southern California golf courses, the Queen Mary, the Four Seasons Costa Rica, and the Chargers/Raiders NFL Los Angeles Stadium Project.

A career marked by a series of notable roles and unique achievements, Mr. Klein served as a partner/director of VisionMaker Worldwide from 2000 to 2008, a venture specializing in developing and consulting on theme parks and resorts, and overseeing developments in MENA, Asia and Central America. During this period, he also played a role as a director of Beijing Construction Engineering Group USA, when they contributed to the development of 11 of 14 Olympic venues for the Beijing Olympics.

Mr. Klein has been involved in various other diverse ventures. Mr. Klein’s family began as a partner with Standard Oil and Chevron Land, ultimately selling their producing oil fields in 2013 (Black Oak Oil), to their partner, China National Petroleum Company. Mr. Klein has partnered with a Beijing private equity company in the manufacture of oil equipment in Mainland China with CCEED for PDVSA. The Klein Family Office invests in various tech investments, including pharma, data centers, as well as solar and energy storage projects. Mr. Klein owned KOH Radio in Reno Nevada, co-founded Golden Oak Bank, and led the Korean Consortium for the California High-Speed Rail Project.

These roles underscore his versatility and commitment to innovation across multiple industries.

In preparation for his career, Mr. Klein garnered a Bachelor of Science in history with a minor in finance from the University of Southern California in 1973.

Mr. Klein’s professional affiliations include memberships in the Pacific Club and the International Council of Shopping Centers.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Klein is actively involved in many civic activities, including his focus on drug rehabilitation with organizations such as Be Well OC, and enjoys golf, skiing and surfing.
